Wake Up American U.S.A., Inc. was officially started in January of 2005. However, the organization has been in the planning stages since late 2004. The organization was formed to help families and individuals who have suffer loss as the result of their loved ones involvement in defending America.
One of the first causes undertaken by the organization was helping Bob and Bonnie Eggle who lost their son Kris Eggle who was a park ranger assigned to the Organ Pipe National Park in Arizona. Kris was killed by a Mexican drug dealer who simply drove across the American/Mexican border. The killer shot Kris with an AK37.
Wake Up America brought the Eggle's to Las Vegas in March 2005 and speak before a gathering of concerned citizens. The Eggle's were able to tell the group about their son and the conditions that lead to his death. They asked for financial support to help them tell their sons story.
Another family who has suffered a great loss is the March's'. This mother and father lost their son David who was a Los Angeles Shierff. David was making a routine traffic stop in Los Angeles when he was shot by an illegal alien.
David's murder was not satisfied with simply shooting him. After downing David with a shot, the killer deliberately strolled over to him and shot him point blank in the head.
Wake Up America brought David's mother and father to Las Vegas to speak in front of a group of approximately 500 people. John and Barbara told the story of theirs sons life and death. They explained the conditions that contributed to the killing of their son. They also suggested ways to prevent the same thing from happening to other police officers who are protecting American citizens.
Over the 2005 Memorial Day holiday, Wake Up America organized its first annual meeting to bring together groups from all over the United States. This was the first opportunity that regional groups had to meet leaders of other organization and to exchange idea's on how to effectuate actions to protect the men and women who place themselves in harms way to protect us.
The future of Wake Up America is dependant upon the success of raising funds. With adequate financing, the organization plans to continue with its efforts to help people defend America. The following are the main areas of activity:
1. Help families who are having financial problems due to the injury or death of a family who was defending American Citizens from illegal activities.
2. Help individuals who are having difficulty becoming legal citizens of the U.S.A.
3. Conduct annual meetings to bring together regional groups who are working to support individuals and families who protect and defend America.
In specific, plans are now being made to conduct our third annual meeting in August 2007. The meeting will have 20 to 30 speakers from all over America. There will be meetings of the leaders of regional groups to discuss what each group has done over the past year; discuss what they plan to do for the next year; and explore how various groups can work together to more efficiently help and educate people.
